For the longest time they made the most boring polishes, all pinks and whites..bridal and work appropriate.
The formula was just okay, mine was a little thick. The formula was a little thick but I had no application issues, I used 2 coats for the photos below. Oh yes, the nail polish that changed my opinion of Essie. I was actually surprised when I was going through my Essie posts on here that I'd never shown this one on it's own before!
This is not only one of my favorite Essie's but one of my favorite green polishes ever. It does remind me a lot of Essie Mojito Madness that came out this year but it's actually a bit darker!
The formula is nice, a little thick but easy to apply. Ruby Slippers is a red jelly base packed full of red and golden glitter and shimmer.
To see swatches of all 16 polishes I've never shown here on The Polish Aholic click the read more button below the collage! I have no idea, but I do own it...maybe it's good for french manicures?
Cherry Pop is a very very very very very sheer pink polish. I think I probably saw this and went whoa this looks cool in the bottle and bought it. I used 2 coats of Cherry Pop over Essie Waltz for the photos below. Let me tell you a little story about this polish, it was one of the polishes that came out when Essie went retail last year.
You can't really tell much of a difference until it's next to how Waltz looked previously. The formula wasn't fantastical, a little sheer but worth an extra coat to build it up! The first place it started turning up was at my nemesis, Walmart.
Chinchilly is a light murky grey with slight purple undertones. I hate Walmart but I stalked that store like a boss for weeks in search of this. It was a streaktastic nightmare on the first 2 coats, I ended up getting it to even out at 3 coats by making my 3rd coat very thick.
I have a million polishes like this (okay maybe not a million but quite a few). I finally found it and rejoiced, brought it home and put it in my Helmer where it sat untried until I grabbed it for this post. I need to stop doing that, look how beautiful this is... The formula was a little patchy on the first coat but it's perfection at 2 coats! This came out for Spring 2012, I passed it up for months but I finally caved and bought it when I found it on clearance at CVS one day. While I love the color I don't know if it's worth it dealing with the formula.
Great formula on this polish, I used 2 coats for the photos below. Glad I did, it's not the most unique shade but the formula is great! Mochacino is taupe-y brown with a strong silver shimmer. God forbid I could only wear "work appropriate" nail polish this would be what I would grab for.
